Inauguration Day
January 20
Prayer #1

God Bless President Biden

As the waters of the river run to the sea,
and clouds pour life-giving water on dry earth,
so too, may your blessing, O God, spill onto Joe Biden
the 46th President.

As hate knows love is the cure,
and darkness yields to the power of light,
this nation celebrates the inauguration of Joe Biden,
the 46th President.

Protect, guide and lead him, Sovereign One,
during these treacherous times.
May every word spoken and decision made,
heal and restore this broken, divided nation.

We call upon your angels, O God,
to surround President Biden.
There is sacred work before him
to unite us under one flag, one God.

Good and Gracious God,
Bless our 46th President
Bless him with all he will need
to do your work.

In Christ’s name, we pray. Amen.

Prayer #2

January 24 – Participate in the Sunday Worship prayer.

Prayer #3

Lord, make me an instrument of your peace. Where there is hatred, let me sow love; Where there is error, truth; Where there is injury, pardon; Where there is doubt, faith; Where there is despair, hope; Where there is darkness, light; And where there is sadness, joy.

O Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek To be consoled as to console; To be understood as to understand; To be loved as to love. For it is in giving that we receive; It is in pardoning that we are pardoned; It is in self-forgetting that we find; And it is in dying to ourselves that we are born to eternal life. Amen.

Prayer #4

A Wing and a Prayer

Under the wing of an angel, we feel protected Through prayers to God, we feel connected.
Peace is said to be offered on the wings of a dove Prayers can bring peace along with hope, faith, and love.

Wings of a jet plane provide steady flight I pray you remain steady and strong through this fight.
Butterflies have wings to fly playfully free And free for God’s work is what I pray you’ll soon be.

Birds spread their wings as they may leave their nest We’re spreading our prayers that you’ll always be blessed
Go fight and win this battle you didn’t start On the wings of an angel and prayers from my heart

Prayer #7

When you walk to the edge of all the light you have and take that first step into the darkness of the unknown, you must believe that one of two things will happen:
There will be something solid for you to stand upon, or, you will be taught how to fly.

Prayer #8

Words Will Flow From You

Do not plan or plot what you will say or do
on My behalf, however well intended. Do not even seek to imitate what I might say or do.
Live rather in the perfection of each present moment
as it unfolds for you, and I will meet you there in My eternal present,
to quicken and enliven with My Spirit.

Words will flow from you, deeds so naturally, leading unselfconsciously to your sanctity.

Prayer #11

A Prayer for God’s Light

Dear Jesus, help us to spread your fragrance everywhere we go.
Flood our souls with your Spirit and life.
Possess our whole being so our lives may be a radiance of yours.
Shine on us, so we may be a light for others.

Let us love you through loving. Let us point the way with our life.
May we preach you without preaching and praise you by lifting the lowly.
Shine on us, so we may be a light for others.
